Smithey Ironware Carbon Steel Farmhouse Skillet (30cm)

A genuine “Farmhouse” Skillet, inspired by American blacksmith design of the 18th and 19th century, the new Smithey 12” Carbon Steel Skillet is as much work of art as it is a cooking tool.

We hand-forge a limited number of these skillets in partnership with renowned charleston blacksmith Robert Thomas Iron Design.

Each piece is visually unique while sharing core design features such as a handle inspired by traditional fire tools and the signature Smithey 3-holed helper handle.

With performance that rivals cast iron at a lighter weight, these skillets are designed to elevate your everyday cooking experience.

The last skillet I'll buy

A beautiful piece with performance to match. I use this all the time and the seasoning is improving with every use. This is a piece that will last a lifetime or three.

Worth it!

After much research for a CS pan at all price points, I chose this for its thickness, shape and size and the fact its a beautiful looking pan, was a bonus. Maintaining and improving the seasoning is easy, and the functionality is great, I use Stainless and Cast Iron but this will replace them most of the time. It is a diverse and functioning art piece! About a month in, and loving it.

Best kitchen item I’ve ever bought.

I can’t remember how I came across the Smithy brand but was stoked to find The Barbecue Co to be an Australian stockist. I was looking for a healthier Teflon alternative and we have not been disappointed, having put it to the test with eggs and fish. The skillet is a real thing of beauty with each one being handmade makes it a unique investment piece that I know will last a lifetime and then some. Looking forward to adding more Smithy pieces to my kitchen.

Love from down under

My brother returned to Australia from living in the US due to covid. He purchased a “smithy” cast iron pan as a wedding present for my bribe and me. Awesome. Now I want the skillet he has. Great product - without peer down here.
